Day 23 - Who is your AUDIENCE? | SEO for Car Dealers tip of the day

More Automotive SEO All Daily Tips

Today's tip: figure out who your buyer actually is, then build pages that talk to that person.

"Who is your daddy, and what does he do?" That Kindergarten Cop line is the whole question behind good SEO. Ask it about your lot: who is your car buyer, and what does he buy?

Why niching down ranks

Most dealer sites try to speak to everyone who might want a used car. Broad content is the hardest kind to rank, because you're up against every lot in the state saying the same thing. Niche down and the field gets small fast.

My dad's lot

My dad ran a used car lot in Charlotte after years at a Chrysler Jeep store. His niche was off-lease Jeeps - Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler. He knew where to buy them at auction, he knew how to fix them, he knew everything about them. That's what he sold, and it worked.

Find yours

Look at what you actually move and who actually buys it. Work trucks for contractors. First cars for parents buying for a teenager. Off-lease SUVs for families. Then write a page for that buyer in their language, showing the cars that fit their life. (That's the Day 17 buyer-page playbook with a sharper aim.)

That's who I do this for - used car dealers, mostly in North and South Carolina. Same principle. When someone with high buying intent searches and lands on a page written for exactly their situation, they don't keep shopping. They call you.
