I'm Ready to Get Started
Team KGI

The family behind your dealer software.

KGI is family-owned and family-staffed. When you call, one of the four people below picks up. We started in 2002 in Apex, NC and we still answer our own phones.

Brooke Kelley, Marketing at KGI Dealer Solutions
Marketing

Brooke Kelley

Brooke is a graduate of NC State University's School of Business Management with a concentration in marketing (#1 in her class but she won't tell you that). After a stint in sales at a Fortune 500 company, Brooke realized her passion is small business and joined the KGI team in 2008.

As the resident website and internet marketing expert, she says: "Helping small business owners succeed in their dream of running their own business is really what drives me. I know for many of our customers, they have put literally everything on the line when opening their dealership and I want to assist them in turning their dream into a reality."

Matt and Brooke also own and operate Peak City Web Design, a web design firm specializing in small businesses in Apex. You can call Brooke with any of your website and marketing questions, or even just to chat about her love of Wrightsville Beach and the NC State Wolfpack.

Landon Tallent, Sales at KGI Dealer Solutions

Landon Tallent

Landon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from NC State's Poole College of Management in 2009. He started his sales career as an Account Manager selling IT, Business, and Leadership Training with Global Knowledge from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, he moved into the Fortune 500 SAS sector with Citrix Systems as a Senior Corporate Sales Executive selling cloud-based data transfer, storage, and electronic signature software.

In 2017, Landon made the switch from the corporate hustle to the small business world and has never looked back. Landon heads up our Sales division as VP of Sales, bringing in new business and maintaining our current customer base. He attends all of the North Carolina and South Carolina Dealer Pre-Licensing classes each month and is always available to help with technical support needs.

Landon is an avid BMW enthusiast with a passion for technology. When he is not working, you can find Landon spending time at Ocean Isle Beach, working on his cars, or on the links playing golf.

Matt Kelley, Websites at KGI Dealer Solutions
Websites

Matt Kelley

Matt joined the family business right out of college in 2005. He started off working remotely out of Raleigh doing software sales and installs all across eastern North Carolina. Then in 2007, when the dot-com boom swept the independent dealer market, he became self-taught in HTML and CSS to meet the growing demand for car dealership websites.

From there his passion grew and websites and marketing became his niche. To this day he has created over 750 custom dealership websites. When he's not working on websites or taking tech support calls he's probably traveling with Brooke and their two boys, attending a church function, or hanging with his F3 Nation guys in the gloom.

Ryan Kelley, Co-Founder and CEO of KGI Dealer Solutions
Co-Founder, CEO

Ryan Kelley

Ryan is either too humble or too busy coding Dealer Solutions DMS to write his bio. But let's be honest, that's right where we want him to be. Ryan is the chief software architect of KGI Solutions. He's responsible for making Dealer Solutions such an easy-to-use DMS and high quality user experience.

Fresh out of college, in just three and a half years, Ryan co-founded KGI Solutions along with Don Kelley. When he's not stuck behind his giant monitor(s) he's probably enjoying a home-brewed beer or coffee, listening to his extensive vinyl collection, or helping his wife Maud and their two kids tend the farm animals through their non-profit, hoofnc.org.

The Origin Story

From a small NC dealership to a software company.

After many years spent at franchise stores, Don Kelley decided to go out on his own and start up Southern Car Locators in 1996.

He quickly discovered that many of the tools dealers needed were missing in the independent dealer market. The first and most glaring was dealer management software. After exhausting all of his options and finding inadequate solutions, he turned to his oldest son.

Ryan Kelley was a senior at Appalachian State University studying Computer Science. Don gave him an outline of what was needed and over the course of the summer of 1998, he delivered the first working version of Dealer Solutions Software, named DMV Wizard.

In 2002 Don officially closed the dealership to focus on selling the software. Together he and Ryan formed KGI Solutions in 2003.
