Day 05 - SEO for Car Dealers | Yelp is Back and Dealerrater.com is Needed for GEO / AI SEO
More Automotive SEO All Daily Tips
Today's tip: claim your Yelp and DealerRater listings before AI starts naming your competitor instead of you.
Yelp just partnered with ChatGPT, and most car dealers have never claimed their listing. Yelp listings and reviews now feed into ChatGPT answers. When a buyer asks it for a dealer near them, your Yelp profile is part of what it reads - or it isn't, and someone else's is.
DealerRater is already in the answers
I searched "what's a good car dealer near me" in ChatGPT and DealerRater came back as one of the sources it pulled from. Basic listings on DealerRater are free.
What to do on both
- Claim the listing.
- Correct name, address, phone, and hours.
- Photos of your actual lot, not stock images.
- A real description of who you help.
- Same info on every listing, so nothing conflicts.
This is search everywhere optimization. Google isn't the only place a buyer starts anymore, and every listing with matching, accurate info adds to the trust and authority that gets you named. (Apple Maps is the same play - that was Day 2.)
